Today marks another milestone in DEMERA’s commitment to fostering technological empowerment as we donated 30 laptops to Citizen to Citizen (C2C). This donation is a crucial step in supporting C2C’s mission to provide IT training to young people and women affected by internal conflict.
Mr. Endalkachew Yaregal, Director of C2C, officially received the laptops from DEMERA’s representative, Mr. Abebe Belachew, in a handover ceremony that underscored the shared vision of both organizations. Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mr. Endalkachew expressed gratitude for DEMERA’s support, emphasizing that access to technology is a game-changer for aspiring IT professionals who otherwise would not have had the opportunity to pursue digital skills training. This donation is not just about devices—it’s about enabling opportunities. These laptops will allow our trainees to access quality IT education, equipping them with the tools needed to build a better future for themselves and their communities.
DEMERA believes that sustainable development starts with equipping individuals with the right skills. By donating these laptops, we are taking an active role in bridging the digital divide and empowering those with untapped potential. This initiative is part of our broader mission to create transformative impact through technology and education.
The training program, now strengthened by this donation, is expected to benefit hundreds of young people and women in the coming months. With DEMERA’s support, C2C will continue providing hands-on IT education, ensuring that trainees are prepared for real-world opportunities in the digital economy.
This partnership between DEMERA and C2C reflects our shared commitment to community-led development, sustainability, and resilience. We look forward to witnessing the success stories that will emerge from this collaboration.
As the device import process takes time and due to the lengthy procedures, DEMERA Chairwoman Ms. Yetemegn Kebede was unable to attend the handover ceremony. However, she acknowledged that this donation was made possible through the generosity and social responsibility of our partner, De Connectie. We are beyond words in expressing our gratitude to De Connectie for their support in making our educational initiative sustainable.
