ANBI (Algemeen nut beogende instelling).

ANBI or PBO (Public Benefit Organisation)

Demera works to revolutionise Ethiopia's education and technology sectors by providing digital training to Ethiopian higher education students, enhancing the infrastructure of public higher education institutions, and fostering an inclusive environment that promotes socio-economic growth and digital empowerment.

The main points of Demera's policy is:

  • We operate in Ethiopia 

  • Our target group are students with special focus on women and differently abled, in public higher education institutes. 

  • Our initiatives revolve around digital education and empowerment. 

 Policy statement

As of April 2024, DEMERA has been recognised as a public benefit organisation, or Algemeen nut beogende instelling, ANBI by the belastingdienst (tax authorities). An organisation with ANBI status is almost entirely committed to the public benefit. An ANBI is obliged to publish certain data and in a publicly accessible platform. 

The foundation comprises a board and volunteers. The board fulfills its duties on a voluntary basis and does not receive a salary or any other form of compensation for their work. Board members are entitled to a statutory expense allowance to cover costs incurred in the execution of their duties.
